Since I haven’t officially launched MyDadBlog just yet, what better way to kick it off than to offer a little incentive and thanks for providing me with some advice and helping to spread the word about MyDadBlog.com.

By leaving a comment on this post with any of the following bits of advice, you’ll be entered into a contest to win $25 paid via Paypal once I hit 20 comments. So, a 5% chance of winning for your 2 cents! Given my background on being a father of 2 boys with a girl on the way, a personal finance/investing blogger and a blogging enthusiast in general, I’d like your advice on:

What are some of the top subjects you like to read about on parenting blogs?

What advice would you give me for providing a useful, enjoyable experience for parents and prospective parents alike – what topics should I try out and which ones should I avoid?

Do you have any questions on topics you haven’t seen covered at your favorite blogs that you’d like me to investigate and report on?

Do you have any recommendations on the blog design itself – layout, visuals, widgets, anything else that would make the blog more interactive and enjoyable?

Finally, if you leave a comment AND subscribe in a reader or email, just confirm in your comment and your name will be double counted in the contest!

And Finalllllyyy, if you twit this, stumble this, or blog about it with link back and you’ll be quadrouple counted in the contest! Just leave evidence back in your comment and I’ll reflect in the tally when I run the lottery!

Don’t worry about publicly posting your email address, as it’s captured when you leave a comment in the field. To ensure authenticity, I will utilize Random.org to select the winner and post a screen shot at the end of the contest.

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to your advice!

I’m going to keep this relatively brief. Based on some mild success with a blog on personal finance and investing, I figured I’d start another blog. The primary reason my other blog is working is because I truly enjoy the topic. It doesn’t feel like work at all. It’s great to interact with readers, exchange ideas with other bloggers and most of all, I have a passion for the topic.

Naturally, I asked myself what other topic I have a passion for. The obvious answer to me (besides the passion for my wife of course :>, but what a boring blog that would be!) was being a Dad. My kids are a total blast and we have another on the way. What better way to celebrate the wonders of being a Dad, the day to day laughs, the challenges, the proud moments and the questions that inevitably arise as a new parent?

So, I hope you enjoy the blog. As far as I can tell, there aren’t a lot of Dad Blogs out there that aren’t spamblogs, so I hope you’ll bookmark this page, sign up in a reader, follow my Twitter, or whatever you prefer to stay in touch.
